As a subjective understanding, the impressionism era was needed, regarding it’s acceptance as a whole, the impressionism direction was needed to push art in a way that would help develop and help art gain stability throughout the audiences and cultures. The 1800 served as a beginning movement that started in Paris and manifested throughout the world. the movement had certain characteristics that are loosely associated by the artist own interpolation to give a impressionistic feel though the colors and methods of stroke techniques. The compositions like Berthe Morisot “Reading” 1873 put an emphasis on light and the qualities that are associated with the painting to give a warm, sutle, style. The painting although depicts the subject of a women whom is sitting on the grass reading a book presents not just the subject, but the style which provides warm colors and the illumination of light that surrounds the subject. This gives the impression of how the day was and how the time flowed around the subject. This gives a crucial element of human perception and experience. In addition, Claude Monet “Women with a Parasol” 1875 shows a women on a Windy day. The painting gives an impression that with the colors and brush strokes give the imagery of a overcast day where there is a slight wind on a cool summer or spring day. These paintings which incorporate the expression of the artist and to the impression that the artist wants the audience to perceive could all be subjective due to the way the artist paints the picture.i personally like the post-impressionism movement better due to the different forms of expression and the bias artist whom created them. I personally like Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night which like the impressionism movement Incorporated the surroundings and style instead of the subject, but used different patterns of color, lines, and arrangements of shapes. In addition to van Gogh I like the method of using dots to form a picture like in pointillism. These show a more abstract methods which to me really give an impression.
